How to set up your Nets Terminal with Shopbox POS

Terminal settings

When you receive your Nets terminal directly from Shopbox, the necessary settings will already be configured before you receive it. If you do not receive it from us, it is not guaranteed that the required settings are in place. Therefore, it is a good idea to review your terminal’s settings.

 

To set up your terminal, you will need your merchant card. If you do not have a merchant card, contact Nets customer service to obtain your merchant code.

 

Configure the terminal's communication type

  1. Swipe your merchant card through the card reader.
    1. Press ‘6’ for Parameter.
    2. Press ‘1’ for Change.
    3. Press ‘2’ for Communication.
      1. Press the down arrow, and when you highlight ‘Communication Type’, press the green button.Use the arrows to browse through the options and select ‘Wi-Fi’.
      2. Press the Red button once to return to the previous menu
    4. Press ‘3’ for ECR.
      1. Ensure ‘ECR’ is set to ‘Yes’.
      2. Ensure ‘Comm. Type’ is set to ‘IP Wi-Fi’.
    5. Press the Red button twice to restart your terminal.

 

Connect the terminal to Wi-Fi

  1. Take your Move3500 Terminal and press the down arrow.
  2. Navigate to Wi-Fi Settings (use the up/down arrows and press the green button to select).
  3. Ensure that the Wi-Fi function is turned on:
    • If you see ‘Switch Off’, Wi-Fi is already enabled.
    • If it says ‘Switch On’, navigate to it and press the green button to enable Wi-Fi. The option will change to ‘Switch Off’, indicating that Wi-Fi scanning is now enabled.
  4. Navigate to ‘Scan Networks’ and press the green button.
  5. The Move3500 will now search for local networks. Find and select the same network your iPad is connected to, and connect your Move3500 to it.

 

Connect the Terminal to Shopbox

  1. Open the Shopbox POS app on your iPad.
  2. Navigate to the card terminal settings:
    • Tap the three lines in the top left corner > Settings > Card Terminals.
  3. Here, you will see an IP Address, which is a series of numbers.
  4. Take your Move3500 terminal and swipe your merchant card.
  5. Go to Parameters > Change > ECR.
  6. Press the down arrow until you find ‘ECR IP ADDRESS’.
  7. Check if the IP address displayed on your iPad matches the ECR IP Address on your Move3500:
    • If they do not match, press the green button on your Move3500.
    • Enter the IP address shown on your iPad.
  8. Once entered, your Move3500 will restart.

 

Confirmation

After completing these steps, your Move3500 will now be connected to your Shopbox POS. You will see the ‘ECR’ light in the top-right corner turn green, indicating a successful connection.
