How Menus work in Shopbox

Menus in Shopbox are used to create offers or combinations of two or more products. This is especially useful if you want to sell bundles or quantity discounts, such as “3 soft drinks for DKK 35” or “Popcorn + beer at a combined price”.

When should I use a menu?

Use Menus when:

  • An offer consists of multiple products
  • The price is lower than the total price of the individual products
  • The customer should be able to choose between several products within the same offer

Create a menu

  1. Go to the Menus tab.
  2. Click the “+” in the top-right corner.
  3. Fill in the following fields:

Basic information

  • Menu name
    The name of the menu.

  • Official name

    This is automatically filled in based on the Menu name.
    This is the name shown on the register and in reports. It can be changed.

  • Printer name
    This is also filled in automatically.
    Use this if the menu should have a specific name on kitchen or bar prints.

  • Category
    The category the menu should belong to.

  • Price
    The total price of the menu.

Add products to the menu

Click Add Menu Items and fill in the following:

  • Number of products

    How many products must be selected before the menu price is activated.

  • % of price

    Distributes the menu price across the product lines.

  • Search in product

    Search for and select the products that should be included in the menu.
    You can select multiple products in the same line to give the customer different options.

Example 1: 3 soft drinks for 35,00

  • Menu price: 35
  • Number of products: 3
  • % of price: 100%
  • Products in the line:
    Cola, Cola Zero, Sprite, Fanta, Pepsi, Pepsi Max

The customer can freely choose 3 soft drinks from the selection, and the price will automatically be 35,-.

This type of menu is not shown as one button on the register, because there are several possible combinations.

Example 2: Popcorn + draught beer

In this example, two menu lines are used:

Line 1

  • Number of products: 1
  • % of price: 50%
  • Product: Popcorn

Line 2

  • Number of products: 1
  • % of price: 50%
  • Product: Beer

This menu only has one possible combination and will therefore be shown as a product on the register.

When you tap the menu, both popcorn and draught beer are automatically added to the cart to the menu price.

Finish

Click Save to create the menu.
