Set up Worldline RX5000 in Shopbox

In this guide, we show you how to connect the terminal with cables, find the terminal's IP address, and add it to Shopbox. Once the setup is complete, the terminal can be used to accept payments directly from your Shopbox POS system.

Before you get started

For the terminal and Shopbox to communicate with each other, they must be connected to the same network.

Make sure that:

  • Your Worldline RX5000 terminal is assembled correctly with the supplied cables

  • The terminal is connected to a power source

  • The network cable is connected to your router or switch

  • Your Shopbox iPad is connected to the same network as the terminal

Connect the cables and network

First, connect the terminal to a power source and the network.

  1. Assemble the terminal using the supplied cables.
  2. Connect the network cable from the terminal's connection box to your router or switch. It must be the same router or switch that your Shopbox iPad gets its network connection from.
  3. Connect the power cable.

The terminal will now turn on and automatically connect to the wired network via Ethernet.

Find the terminal's IP address

To add the terminal in the Shopbox app, you need the terminal's IP address.

  1. Tap the menu icon with the three horizontal lines on the terminal's touchscreen.

  2. Select System.

  3. Tap About.

  4. Scroll down until you find the network information section under Ethernet.

  5. Note the terminal's IP address.

The IP address is a series of numbers separated by periods. For example:

192.168.1.221

Make sure to enter the entire IP address, including all periods/full stops.

Add the terminal in the Shopbox app

Once you have found the terminal's IP address, enter it in the Shopbox app.

  1. Open the Shopbox app on your iPad.

  2. Tap the menu with the three lines in the top left corner.

  3. Go to Settings > Card terminals under the Hardware section.

  4. Under the Worldline 2x heading, you will see the text "You dont have any terminal integrated".

  5. Tap + Add Terminal.

  6. A new window titled Add terminal opens.

  7. Enter the terminal's IP address in the Terminal IP address field.

  8. Tap the green Add terminal button.

Check that the terminal is connected

Once the terminal has been added correctly, the screen in Shopbox will update.

You will now see:

  • A green terminal icon

  • The IP address you entered

  • A green dot with the text Connected

This means that the terminal is connected to Shopbox and ready to use.

If the terminal does not connect

If the terminal is not shown as connected, try the following:

  • Check that the network cable is correctly connected to the terminal's connection box and to the router or switch.

  • Check that the terminal and your Shopbox iPad are connected to the same network.

  • Check that the IP address has been entered correctly.

  • Make sure that all periods in the IP address are included.

  • Tap Check connection again.

  • Restart the terminal if necessary, and try again.

If the terminal later receives a new IP address, you can tap Edit terminal and enter the new IP address.
